With over 30 years of experience in the field of education I have had the pleasure of teaching Pre-K through graduate students, in general, and special education settings, in the U.S. and abroad.
In service, I have been a member of public and private school boards, I was on the review committee for an Autism assessment tool, and I was the research coordinator at Oregon Health and Sciences University Child Development and Rehabilitation Center for a study about Autism Assessment. I am also a member of national education organizations.
The highlight of my career has been the privilege of working with students of every ability level. From them I have learned the true meaning of perseverance.
I have a Doctorate Degree in Education, Specialization in Special/Counselor Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I hold a Special Education K-12 Administrative License in Vermont and Oregon, and I am licensed in Maine as a Special Education Consultant.
I offer services for Special Education in all 50 states.
In addition to taking leadership roles in my past positions, I was granted approval and funding to operate the first special purpose private school in a hospital setting in the state of Maine.The school serves as a research center, and continues to be a model of success for assisting students with intensive behavioral challenges to reintegrate to their community schools.
I have served as an expert witness at special education hearings, and written expert reports offering evidence of research and best practices.
I have delivered professional development opportunities for school districts and developed a state-wide training program for autism assessments.
